Barnetby Central Bowls Club Timber Edge Replacement
November 2017
At Barnetby Central Bowls Club the perimeter of the bowling green had begun to collapse through the deterioration of the timber edge.
We removed a 1.2m wide strip of turf along with the rotting timber and string lined the new edge. Laser equipment ensures that new timber is accurately installed at the correct level. The timber edging is in permanent, direct contact with the soil and vulnerable to fungal decay and insect attack. To circumvent this issue and provide a longer life for the edging we install and recommend Hc4 treated timber.
We reinstated the greens perimeter with imported rootzone that was laser levelled and married into the timber edge ready for turf. We installed Tillers Turf greens grown on soil.
