Deutsche Bank Park NFL Hybrid Install

Following a number of successful NFL hybrid turf installations at Wembley Stadium, Fineturf were approached to grow and lay a hybrid pitch at Deutsche Bank Park. The project commenced in spring 2023 and involved finding and preparing a suitable location in The Netherlands to grow the Tillers Hybrid Turf system and all subsequent maintenance and preparation ahead of two NFL Germany Games fixtures held in November 2023.
Upon appointment, the first step was to select land in Holland that would be suitable to grow the Tillers Hybrid Turf pitch. An area of 9600sq M was selected and a team from Fineturf in the UK, together with all the necessary equipment, were dispatched to the chosen site to commence the grow in.
During the 13-week grow-in period, the existing pitch at Deutsche Bank Park was Koro’ed and removed, and the surface laser graded, sand dressed and prepared ready for the new hybrid pitch to be installed.
Come October, the Tillers Hybrid Turf was harvested by Tillers specialist harvest team and laid in its final stadium setting. The pitch was then topdressed, seeded and maintained to ensure it was in peak condition for the first fixture – Miami Dolphins vs Kansas City Chiefs - on Sunday 5th November 2023.
Following the second fixture seven days later - Indianapolis Colts vs. New England Patriots – the surface was removed and the stadium once again returned to the custodianship of the venue.
The project demonstrated the very best in logistics and Fineturf craftmanship and expertise to deliver a surface of the highest standards, on time and to the satisfaction of the NFL and players alike.
