Gainsborough Golf Club Tee Renovation
October 2012
In October we returned to Gainsborough Golf Club, Lincolnshire, to renovate nine tees. The works were carried out to correct undulating levels and in some cases extend the tee boxes. This is our second visit to the club having completed both tee and bunker works in 2011.
The existing tees turf was removed using a big roll harvester and stripped using a Volvo Excavator. The removed turf was stockpiled on the course and will de-grade over time, allowing the soil to be reused on a future project.
The surface was laser graded and Sibelco Messingham 70/30 rootzone imported and spread using the excavator. The surface was re graded, luted and final ground preparation completed with a John Deere bunker rake.
6:5:18 fertiliser was applied and MM22 grass seed sown at 50gm2.
MM22 Amenity Grass Seed contains Ryegrass, Fescue and Bent cultivars and is hard wearing and quick to establish and recover.
