Gloucestershire Cricket Club Pitch Construction and Gravel Banding

We have just extended the square at Gloucestershire Cricket Club. The new pitch area was excavated and the arisings loaded onto low ground pressure turf tyres and tipped on site. We lightly cultivated the formation and laser graded. We supplied, spread, laser graded and consolidated Ongar Plus Binder Loam to a final depth of 150mm. We spread a 6:5:18 fertiliser and prepared the surface for seeding.

During the project we installed gravel bands inside the ring main at 800mm centres and 250mm deep. These were installed at approximately 22.5 degrees to the line of play over the lateral drains.
