Kedleston Park Golf Club USGA Practice Green
August 2015
In July we commenced the construction of a USGA practice green at Kedleston Park. The target green, part of a shortgame area, also had two bunkers shaped into the surrounds. The green construction began with a shaped, consolidated base. Drainage trenches were cut into the formation, drainage pipe installed and the trenches backfilled with 4-10mm gravel. A gravel carpet was laid and a layer of rootzone spread and consolidated.
During the project practice bunkers were also excavated and shaped for an existing target green. We also built a second blended rootzone target green.
Both greens were seeded with Limagrain MM9 which is pure bent mixture and the surrounds with MM50 100% ryegrass.
