Laceby Manor Golf Club Green Renovation
July 2013
Laceby Manor Golf Club set in 116 acres of parkland in North Lincolnshire and with a stunning clubhouse recently asked Fineturf to renovate 9 of their greens. The same methodology was used for each green and has been outlined below.
The existing turf was removed using a combination of a tractor mounted big roll harvester and an excavator. 70mm of the existing growing medium was stripped and the green ripped using specially designed ripper tines fitted to the excavator.
A 70mm layer of imported Messingham 70/30 Rootzone was then blended into the indigenous soil using a Kuhn Spike Rotavator. Utilising the excavator power tilt attachment the new growing medium was shaped and consolidated to the clubs requirements. Each green was prepped using a bunker rake and hand rakes, a 6:5:18 fertiliser applied and Tillers Greens Turf Grown on Rootzone installed.
