London Golf Club Fairway Drainage
May 2014
Following the successful construction of two tees and two bunkers at the start of April we returned to the London Golf Club, International Course, to install new drainage on the 3rd, 9th and 13th fairways.
During the project approximately 500lm of main drainage and 3600lm of lateral drainage was installed. A Shelton machine was used to excavate the trenches and 100mm pipe was laid in the main drainage channels and 80mm pipe in the laterals. The trenches were backfilled with 6-10mm gravel, rootzone and finally turfed.
Following the completion of the project Fineturf supplied 300T of Redhill sand, which the club greenkeepers spread over the fairways. The golf club will continue to build up the sand cap to improve surface drainage on the three fairways.
