Loughborough University Cricket Pitch Construction

In September, Loughborough University asked us to reconstruct one of their cricket pitches. We marked out the 25m x 3m pitch and excavated the existing material, tipping on site. We then installed a 50mm layer of 20mm frost resistant stone, levelled and consolidated and repeated the process for a 50mm layer of 10mm dust stone. We supplied Surrey Old Trafford loam to match their existing pitches which was spread in layers, consolidated and laser levelled. We prepared the surface for seeding by hand raking the loam, applied a 6:5:18 pre seed fertiliser and seeded.
