Manchester United F.C. End of Season Renovations
May 2023
The 2023 End of Season renovations at Manchester United F.C. was our busiest year yet with the club since we began working with them in 2001. For the first time, 2023 saw us carry out 100% of the end of season renovations on all four sites for Manchester United, Carrington, Littleton Road, The Cliffe and Old Trafford.
The pitches are a mixture of Desso Grass master, Fibre Sand and sand ameliorated. In most cases, we removed the surface in two directions using a Koro field top maker, collected any remaining debris with a Trilo SG 400 sweeper collector, then applied Amenity grass seed with a dimple seeder in 4 directions, supplied and applied 60-100 tons of sports sand per pitch. After the sand was spread, we generally applied 3-4 tons of Profile TM Soil Amendment. Deep Tine aerated the pitches approximately 180mm deep at 125mm centres without heave and ran over the pitches with a Procore 50mm centres 60mm deep. A further two directions of seed was sown with the dimple seeder followed by drag matting in 4 directions. A 10.0.8 pre-seeder was applied at 35g m2. The training pitches had an eight week grow in period, and Old Trafford had 41 days.
In conclusion, the 2023 End of Season renovations at Manchester United F.C. marked a significant milestone in our long-standing partnership with the club. This year, we achieved a remarkable feat by successfully carrying out 100% of the end-of-season renovations on all four sites: Carrington, Littleton Road, The Cliffe, and the iconic Old Trafford stadium. The dedication and expertise of our team, combined with the trust and collaboration with Manchester United, resulted in outstanding outcomes.
