Sandown Park Racecourse Drainage Installation

A v-ditch was excavated on the inside edge of the track where we were operating. From this v-ditch, drainage trenches were excavated using a Shelton Trencher spaced at 5m centres. Drainage pipe was installed and the trenches were backfilled with gravel, sand and seed. At 90 degrees to these trenches sand slits were installed at 2m centres. These were backfilled with sand and compacted using our custom built tractor attachment. The entire area was also lightly dressed.
