Southend on Sea Cricket Club Wicket Renovation
October 2016
In September Fineturf made a trip to the seaside town of Southend and we were fortunate to have glorious sunshine for the clubs end of season wicket renovation.
The surface was removed and the chunky (as seen in the photos) underlying formation broken down with a Blecavator. The cultivated surface was laser graded and 96m3 of Ongar loam applied. The loam was laser graded and a pass made with a Graden. The Graden loosened the slight compaction that had been created by the laser grader.
Final preparation of the wicket included luting and hand raking. 6:5:18 fertiliser was applied and seed sown.
