The Gateway Academy Landscaping and Tree Planting

Fineturf have just completed a soft landscaping and tree-planting project at the Gateway Academy in Essex. The work was completed on behalf of Balfour Beatty.
Approximately 6500m2 was landscaped using 215m3 of certified topsoil. During this phase of the project the existing material was decompacted and stone picked prior to the importation of the new topsoil. Our experienced excavator driver shaped the grounds as required. A pre seeder fertiliser was applied and Limagrain grass seed sown.
The tree-planting phase of the project involved the excavation of tree pits for 14 Alnus trees and the planting of 180 Hawthorns, including stakes, ties and rootball water tubing.
