The Vale Academy Macadam Tennis Court Construction

In September we continued our work at Vale Academy in Brigg by constructing 4 macadam tennis courts. The formation was levelled using a laser guided Bulldozer. V-shaped drains were cut, pipe laid and backfilled with drainage gravel. A geotextile membrane was laid and a 200mm layer of type 1 stone was spread, laser levelled and rolled. The tarmac was installed in two layers, first 60mm of 20mm base porous tarmac followed by 40mm of 6mm top porous tarmac. The tarmac was rolled and the courts line marked and fenced. Kerb edging was also installed.
