West Ham United FC Training Ground Renovation
May 2022
Fineturf was contracted to carry out renovations at the West Ham Training Academy to improve the quality of its pitches. The project involved mobilisation and site set-up to ensure safe and efficient work could be carried out. The first task was to Koro off the existing surface in three directions to the client's satisfaction. This was followed by Trilo vacuuming off debris to prepare the surface for the next stage. To enhance the playing surface, 200 tons of sports sand were loaded and spread per pitch. This helped to improve drainage and create a better surface for the players to train on. Finally, the pitches were vertidrained using 20mm solid tines as deep as the ground conditions allowed. This helped to relieve compaction, improve aeration and encourage deeper root growth. The pitches were then overseeded by the groundstaff at West Ham United.
