Wimbledon Championships Aorangi Terrace Turf Installation
January 2019
Each year during the Wimbledon Championships Aorangi Terrace, also known as Henman Hill or Murray Mound, has very high footfall and is prone to wear and tear. We were asked to remediate an area of the terrace ready for this years Championships. During the project due to restricted access around Aorangi Terrace we required assistance from a Sir Robert McApline crane to manoeuvre the turf pallets into position.
The scope of works included:
- Strip existing turf.
- Supply and spread 60 tonnes of topsoil. Shape and marry into the existing contours. Consolidate and prepare ready for turf.
- Apply 6:5:18 pre turf fertiliser.
- Supply and install 605m2 of Tillers Turf Arena.
